Frequently Asked Questions
How often should gutters be cleaned in Newcastle?
Twice a year for most homes — once after autumn and once after spring. If you have eucalyptus or melaleuca trees overhanging the roof, every three months is more appropriate. These species drop bark and seed pods year-round, not seasonally, and gutters can block within a few months of a clear.
What damage do blocked gutters cause?
Blocked gutters overflow rather than drain. Consistent overflow goes behind the fascia board, causing rot. On older homes it can also find its way into the wall cavity. Over time this leads to fascia replacement, soffit damage, and in severe cases water ingress into the wall framing.
What is included in a professional gutter clean?
Manual removal of all debris by hand — not just blowing it out. We check and clear every downpipe by hand and then flush with water to confirm clear flow. A photo report is sent on completion, including documentation of any fascia damage or water ingress signs we find during the job.
Can gutter cleaning be done in wet weather?
Yes. Rain during a gutter clean is not a problem for the cleaning itself. We do not work in lightning or conditions where roof access becomes unsafe. If we need to reschedule due to weather, we let you know the day before.
