Frequently Asked Questions

What does a house wash include?

Walls, eaves, fascia, gutters (exterior face), window frames, and downpipes. We pre-treat stubborn mould before the rinse so it does not come back within six months. Surfaces with significant mould get a biodegradable treatment and dwell time before any water goes near them.

Is house washing safe for all cladding types?

Yes, if the method is matched to the surface. Render and masonry can handle more pressure than painted weatherboard. Soft wash is the right method for weatherboard, painted brick, and any surface where the coating is not bonded tightly to the substrate. We assess each elevation separately.

How often should you wash your house exterior?

Every one to two years for most Newcastle homes. Annual is better if you are close to the coast (salt air accelerates mould), have overhanging trees, or are on a south-facing block where walls do not dry out in the sun.

What is the six-month mould-free guarantee?

If mould returns to a treated surface within six months of the wash, we come back and retreat it. This applies to surfaces that were correctly pre-treated during the original job — not surfaces that were skipped because the client requested a faster clean.
